Season Opener Reception Sunday, May 27th, 12-5pm

Dear Friends,

Celebrating our twenty-fourth season in Door County, 2018 United States Artists Fellowship, and Miller Art Museum's acquisition of Sandra and Malena's artwork. Wence focused on new designs as he turned over some of his previous Buffalo Robe designs to Malena to weave for the first time. Sandra has paintings done on the huge pages of Hogarth's Harlot's Progress. Jacobo wove Sandra’s latest Symbolist figures in hand spun wool. Check out the Facebook event if you'd like that notification!

Piñon Painting and Weaving, Permanent Additions to Miller Art Museum

Sandra's study of Piñon was acquired along with a weaving of the design by her daughter Malena to the Miller, a museum who focuses on celebrating the work of Wisconsin artists. We are honored to be a part of this vital Door County museum!

We are excited to have the collection reflect that dynamism."

"We feel so fortunate to be able to acquire these works at such a momentous time in Sandra’s career,” states Meissner-Gigstead, “this acquisition really celebrates the changing nature of the artistic community here in Door County, and the Martinez Studio means so much to so many people here.”
